A Community that Prays and Cares
St. Paul’s is a community of prayer and care. In times of celebration, illness, grief, transition, or need, we are here to pray with you and walk alongside you. You do not have to carry those moments alone.
Names may be added to the parish prayer list at the request of the person, a parishioner, or a family member. The reason for the request remains confidential. Requests appear on the published list for one month unless continued prayer is requested. The parish remembers those on the list during worship, at the Wednesday Eucharist with healing prayer, and through the prayers of the Daughters of the King.
You may request prayer in any of these ways:

Complete a Request for Prayer card in the pew and place it in the offering plate.

PASTORAL CARE
The Daily Office
The Daily Office marks the day with prayer: Morning Prayer, Noonday Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline. These services can be prayed by a community or by individuals. St. Paul’s offers Morning Prayer online at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Meals and practical care
Pastoral Care volunteers bring God’s love to people who are ill, homebound, grieving, recovering, or caring for a new child. Volunteers may prepare a meal, provide a meal-delivery gift card, make a call or visit, or offer other practical support.
Hospitalization and pastoral needs
Please tell us if you or a family member is hospitalized or would welcome a pastoral call or visit. Contact the rector or call the church office at (910) 762-4578. Hospitals do not always notify churches, so a direct message helps the clergy respond.
Daughters of the King
Members of the Daughters of the King commit themselves to prayer, service, and evangelism. The order offers a nurturing spiritual community in which members support the mission of the church and one another in Christ’s love. Contact Cheryl Wagoner to learn more.
Community of Hope International
Community of Hope International is a Christian community united in prayer, shaped by Benedictine spirituality, and equipped for pastoral care. Training helps participants become more attentive listeners and develop healthy practices for serving others. After the semester-long course and commissioning, members gather in a monthly Circle of Care for continued learning, fellowship, and support.
St. Paul’s has offered training with St. James Parish, with locations rotating according to the schedule. Sessions have generally met on Tuesday evenings from September through early November.

Communion at home or in a care facility
If illness or limited mobility prevents you or someone you love from attending worship, a priest or licensed lay Eucharistic visitor can bring Holy Communion to a home, hospital, or care facility. Contact the rector or church office to make arrangements.
Helping Hands
Helping Hands offers comfort near the end of life and assists with funerals and memorial services, including receptions. Contact Kathryn Hedgepeth to learn more.
United Thank Offering
The United Thank Offering is a personal practice of gratitude that supports mission throughout The Episcopal Church. Give thanks for the blessings of each day, place an offering or reminder in a UTO Blue Box, and join your prayers and gifts with those of Episcopalians around the world. The collected funds support grants for mission and ministry across The Episcopal Church and invited provinces of the Anglican Communion.
