You do not have to be a member to worship, receive Communion if you are baptized, take part in parish life, or begin finding your place at St. Paul’s. You are welcome here as you are.
When you are ready to make St. Paul’s your church home, we would be glad to walk with you. Membership is a commitment to follow Christ in community through worship, learning, service, prayer, generosity, and care for one another. Every person brings different gifts and experiences, and your presence enriches the life we share.

The right next step depends on your own faith journey. You do not need to know which path applies before contacting us; a member of the clergy or newcomers team will help you discern it.
If You Have Not Been Baptized
Holy Baptism is the beginning of Christian life and the church’s foundational rite of membership. Baptism is offered at appointed times throughout the year, with preparation beforehand.

If You Were Baptized and Confirmed in Another Christian Tradition
You may be received into the Episcopal Church by a bishop. Reception honors the faith and formation that have already shaped you while welcoming you into the Episcopal tradition.

Baptismal Font
An Episcopal baptismal font is a sacred basin used to hold water for Holy Baptism and is traditionally placed near the church entrance or central gathering space.
If You Were Baptized but Have Not Been Confirmed
Confirmation is a mature affirmation of faith and of the promises made at Baptism. Preparation includes conversation and instruction in Christian faith and Episcopal tradition, followed by prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.

If You Were Baptized in Another Christian Church
Your Baptism can be recognized and recorded at St. Paul’s. The parish office can help gather the information needed for the parish register.​​

If You are Already an Episcopalian
Your membership may be transferred from another Episcopal parish. The parish office can guide you through the membership and information form and request the transfer

Membership
​
Membership is more than adding a name to a parish list. It is a growing relationship with God and with a particular community of faith. At St. Paul’s, members are encouraged to:

worship regularly and share in the sacramental life of the church;

continue learning and growing in faith;

serve neighbors and take part in the ministries of the parish;

pray for and care for one another; and

support the church’s life and mission with their time, gifts, and generosity.
