Offer Your Gifts in Worship
Every service at St. Paul’s is supported by people who prepare the sacred space, proclaim Scripture, welcome guests, lead processions, offer music, administer Communion, and care for countless details. These ministries are a meaningful way to grow in faith, build relationships, and help create the worship for which St. Paul’s is known. Training is available, and newcomers are welcome.
A contribution to the St. Paul’s Flower Fund is a meaningful way to remember or honor someone while helping beautify the church for worship. During Lent, dedications support greenery rather than flowers.
Reserve a date at least two weeks in advance through the online form or by calling (910) 762-4578. The form should collect your name, phone, email, requested date, dedication wording, and any special instructions. The suggested gift is $50 for two arrangements, but every gift is received with gratitude. Checks may be mailed to the church office and marked Flower Fund, or gifts may be made online.

Opportunities in Worship
Acolytes
Acolytes take an active part in worship by carrying the processional cross, Gospel book, or torches, lighting candles, and assisting the priest at the altar. They may also help with incense when it is used. Each role helps guide the congregation through the liturgy with care and reverence.
Adult Choir
The Adult Choir carries forward St. Paul’s tradition of sacred music, leading the congregation in Sunday worship throughout the year and singing for Evensong, concerts, and special services. Its repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to the present day, with occasional offerings of major choral works.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild cares for the preparations that make worship possible. Working with the rector and verger, members help ensure that vessels, linens, vestments, and other details are ready for services. They set out the vessels for Holy Communion, then clean and put them away afterward.
Choristers Program
Join Choristers. This is a new program for children in third grade and up, regardless of musical experience. Choristers rehearse Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at St. Paul's, learning the basics of vocal technique, music reading and music theory.
Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers are licensed lay members who assist the clergy in administering Holy Communion. They serve with reverence and attention, helping the congregation share in the sacramental life at the heart of St. Paul’s worship.
Eucharistic Visitors
Eucharistic Visitors bring Holy Communion to people who cannot attend worship because of illness or limited mobility. Visits may take place in a home, hospital, or care facility, extending the fellowship of the altar to those who are unable to gather with the congregation.
Flower Guild
The Flower Guild offers its creativity in praise of God, preparing floral arrangements for worship, holy days, weddings, funerals, and special events. Members help care for the beauty of our sacred spaces and prepare arrangements supported by gifts of remembrance and thanksgiving.
Greeters
Greeters offer a personal welcome to everyone entering St. Paul’s. They greet familiar faces and first-time visitors, offer welcome bags to newcomers, and share activity materials with children. They also invite newcomers to sign the guest registry and begin connecting with the parish.
Lectors
Lectors are trained lay readers who proclaim the Scripture lessons and lead the Prayers of the People during worship. By giving voice to our sacred texts and shared prayers, they help the congregation listen, reflect, and respond to God together.
Stream Team
The Stream Team produces livestreams of worship services, weddings, funerals, and other parish events. By sharing these gatherings online, the team helps people participate from home or wherever they may be. This ministry extends the welcome and worship of St. Paul’s beyond our doors.
Ushers
Ushers help parishioners and guests participate comfortably in worship. They offer a warm welcome, assist with seating and accessibility needs, distribute service leaflets and books, receive offerings, and provide guidance during Holy Communion.
Vergers
Vergers are lay assistants to the clergy who oversee preparations for worship and serve as a master of ceremonies during the liturgy. They attend to details behind the scenes, helping each service unfold with reverence and order.
