Giving at St. Paul’s

Share in the Life and Mission of St. Paul’s
God’s generosity shapes our life together. When we share our time, abilities, and financial resources, we practice stewardship - a faithful response to the gifts God has entrusted to us.

Ways to Give
Cash or check
Cash and checks may be placed in the Sunday offering. Checks may also be mailed to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 16 N. 16th St., Wilmington, NC 28401. Please do not send cash through the mail. Include a clear designation when a gift is intended for a pledge, ministry, memorial, campaign, or other fund.

Bill pay
Most banks and credit unions allow customers to send a one-time or recurring payment through online bill pay. The financial institution sends the payment directly to St. Paul’s, often without a processing fee to the donor or church.

Online giving
St. Paul’s uses a secure Vanco payment portal for one-time and recurring gifts and pledge payments. You may create an account if you wish to save payment details. The payment page can also offer the option to help cover processing costs.

Stocks and other appreciated securities
Publicly traded stocks, bonds, and mutual funds may be transferred to the parish’s investment account as a pledge payment or charitable gift. Contact the Finance Office for current transfer instructions, and consult your financial or tax advisor before making a gift of securities.
Gifts from an IRA
Eligible donors may be able to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution directly from an IRA to St. Paul’s. Because eligibility rules and annual limits can change, consult a qualified financial or tax advisor and contact the Finance Office for current instructions.
Planned gifts
A planned or legacy gift can help sustain St. Paul’s ministries for future generations through the Endowment Fund. Explore the Endowment & Planned Giving page for options and next steps.
Memorial and flower gifts
Memorial gifts may be made through the giving portal or by check. For a floral dedication, reserve a date and provide the dedication wording before submitting the related Flower Fund gift. See Serve in Worship for the full floral-dedication process.
Year-end gifts
For a gift to be recorded in a particular tax year, it must meet the applicable legal and processing deadlines. Contact the Finance Office well before year end if you are transferring securities, arranging a qualified distribution, or sending a gift that may require additional processing.
