Acolytes take an active part in worship by carrying the processional cross, Gospel book, or torches, lighting candles, and assisting the priest at the altar. They may also help with incense when it is used. Each role helps guide the congregation through the liturgy with care and reverence.

Adults and children in fifth grade and above are welcome to serve. Training helps new acolytes become comfortable with their responsibilities. This is a meaningful way to learn the rhythms of Episcopal worship while offering your gifts alongside others.
