Caleb Lee

The Reverend Caleb J. Lee has served as the Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wilmington, North Carolina, since August 2021. Deeply rooted in the traditions of Eastern North Carolina, his return to Wilmington represents a meaningful homecoming to the community where his earliest church memories were formed and where his family has deep generational ties.

Father Lee's ministry is centered on spiritual renewal, vibrant worship, and strengthening the life of the parish. He is committed to empowering lay and clergy leaders, building on St. Paul's rich traditions of liturgy and music, and stewarding the church's historic campus. Under his leadership, St. Paul's continues to be an inclusive and welcoming community where God's grace in Jesus Christ is proclaimed and celebrated.

A graduate of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, Father Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Russian Studies from North Carolina State University and a Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary, where he served as Senior Class President.

Before coming to Wilmington, Father Lee served as Associate Rector at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Beaufort, North Carolina, and later spent seven years at Grace Church Cathedral in Charleston, South Carolina. There, he served as Canon Precentor and President of the Standing Committee, helping lead the diocese through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and a bishop election. He also completed The Leader's Way certificate program through Berkeley Divinity School at Yale.

Beyond parish ministry, Father Lee has served the wider Episcopal Church on the Standing Committee of the Diocese of East Carolina, the Commission on Ministry, and as a Clergy Deputy to the General Convention.

Fun Fact: Father Lee and his wife, Allen, a Wilmington native, are raising their three children. In his free time, he enjoys walking, playing piano and guitar, and cooking for family and friends.
