Called to Serve: St. Paul’s at Glory Ridge

This summer, youth and adult leaders from St. Paul’s joined campers from St. Paul’s Beaufort, St. James Wilmington, and Calvary Tarboro for a week of service, worship, fellowship, and adventure at Glory Ridge.
Centered on the theme “Called to Serve,” the group put faith into action throughout the Marshall community. Teams built decks and a wheelchair ramp, improved homes, landscaped and painted at the Walnut Community Center, and spent meaningful time with neighbors whose stories became an important part of the week.
One especially moving moment came when Mary saw the work completed around her home and was brought to tears by the care shown to her. It was a reminder that Christian service is about more than what gets built. It is about relationships, compassion, and sharing the love of Christ.
Worship remained at the heart of each day, giving campers time to sing, pray, reflect, and consider how God might be calling them to use their gifts in service to others. Along the way, there was also plenty of joy, from whitewater rafting and mountain wildlife to ice cream stops and evenings spent together beneath the big oak tree.
For St. Paul’s, Glory Ridge offered a beautiful expression of Worship, Welcome, and Witness: gathering in faith, building community, and carrying Christ’s love into the lives of others.
