Summer 2026 Renovation Update

This summer marked an important milestone in St. Paul’s renovation project as plans moved from preparation into active construction.

In June, the Vestry approved a contract with Chambliss & Rabil for a new narthex bathroom. Before construction could begin, asbestos abatement was required in the narthex, with remediation work starting on June 29.

By early July, portions of the narthex had been sealed off and some church entrances were temporarily unavailable while the work was underway. The asbestos remediation was completed later that month.

On July 23, St. Paul’s reported that the narthex bathroom design needed to be revised before construction could continue. Updated plans and additional permitting were therefore required.

Despite these early adjustments, the summer represented a significant step forward for the renovation, laying the groundwork for future improvements including better accessibility, larger restrooms, and an elevator.
